I auto-hide my dock and launch apps with Command + Spacebar so I haven’t noticed any icon issues.

I’m also seeing a lot of gripes about the icon sizes. I have plenty of space, but if you’re on a 13” laptop that would suck. This doesn’t bug me as I’m using a 32” 4K as my primary with a 28” 4K in portrait orientation on either side. Haven’t done too much testing with Creative Cloud applications yet, but I haven’t been using those as much lately anyway.Ĭommon gripes from others include the size of the menu bar, which is on most apps- not just Safari. I’ve not encountered anything that I needed to work that didn’t work. Then I set about installing my usual software items and doing some perfunctory tests. The first thing I did the same as I do to any Mac upon first boot: add a DefaultKeyBinding.dict so my home/end buttons work properly. Things seem pretty nimble, but some of that may be related to the X2 blade. Running the installer took about as long as any other macOS install, but it had more restarts that usual it seemed. I also have a 4M2 box connected with TB3 to TB2 adapter.Įveryone is tracking the drama related to getting the installer, so I won’t talk about that. For reference, I have a 10-core D500 with 64GB RAM and the 1TB X2.

I can always boot from my Catalina blade or reinstall it into my trash can.
#SOFTRAID FOR BIG SUR INSTALL#
Here are some initial impressions for those on the fence about upgrading or not.įirst, I have very little risk as I did a clean install on a new Aura Pro X2 blade.
